Editor's Note

For the past 15 or more years fast food has been encroaching on the casinos of Las Vegas. The first I noticed of it (and I'll admit to having selective perception where fast food is concerned,I tend to ignore them as much as possible) was about 15 years ago, I was taking a break from an all night Poker game at The Mint and wandered up to the mezzanine level, and lo and behold, there is a full blown food court, straight out of a mall! Since then they've spread to most of the major strip casinos, and seem to be flourishing.
It is strictly my opinion, but I find it alarming that Americans will opt for familiar "production line" food, with little to recommend it in the way of flavor, portion size, or healthfulness (I don't believe I just said healthfulness, me who crosses the street rather than be on the same side with a gym), other than a well advertised label, over the larger portions of generally better tasting food (that in Vegas at least is generally priced far cheaper) served in the coffee shop
