Five Card Stud

Five Card stud is probably the oldest poker game in existence, it like most other forms of poker, is a game of skill where the most valuable skill is the ability to make your opponent doubt his own probable superiority in any given hand.
The Play goes like this: Two cards are dealt to each participant, one face down the other face up, this is followed by a round of betting. A third card is then dealt face down, followed by another round of betting, then the fourth card is dealt, also face down, followed by another round of betting. Now the final card is dealt, face up followed by the final round of betting and the showdown (if any players remain to show down).
Your primary objective should be to convince your opponents that you hold the superior hand and to "chase" them out of the pot before it comes to a final showdown (but not before they have contributed every possible dollar to that pot). Unless, of course you actually do have the winning hand, in which case your job is to keep every possible opponent in the pot to the bitter end by feigning weakness.
A order and a true "guts" game.

As always I advocate a complete education. Some of the best books that I've found on Poker are: Caro's Fundamental Secrets of Winning Poker and The Body Language of Poker: Mike Caro's Book of Tells.
