Trams and Shuttles Around Las Vegas

Monorails

Getting around Vegas can be easier than you thought. Just jump on one of the 4 monorails that offers people a quick and cooler way to get from one hotel to another. There is no charge to ride the Trams and on a hot day, they are a nice way to get around.

  Mandalay Bay-Excalibur Tram
This monorail offers you a choice of tracks to take.Track I will take you from the Main Station ( Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana, next to Excalibur Hotel ) to the Mandalay Bay. Traveling time on Track I takes 7 minutes, including a quick stop at the Luxor Hotel. Track II will take you from the Mandalay Bay to the Luxor Hotel and finally ExcaliburHotel. Traveling time on Track II is only 3 minutes. Hours of operation are 24 hrs a day and the trams leave every 3-7 minutes so you won't have a long wait.
All of the waiting areas are indoor except the Luxor's Tram, but some walking is required (there are stairs as well as an elevator to access the tram stop).Trams are wheelchair accessible, you will just have to take the elevator to the waiting area. , For your comfort everything is well air-conditioned and they even play music for the waiting passengers. They do not have any attendants so you might have to scramble when the Tram arrives if there are alot of people waiting. SInce the cars come and go quickly, this usually isn't too much of a problem.
When at the Main Station, don't forget to make a visit to the "free" pull on the slot machine which is conveniently located near by.This free pull slot machine boasts a$5,000 payoff and has been know to give out many free show tickets.

  Bellagio-Monte Carlo Tram
The Bellagio-Monte Carlo Tram also runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Trams leave every 1 1/2 minutes. Travel time on the tram is only about 1 minute so your waiting time is very minimal.
There is not the congestion that the Mandalay Bay-Excalibur Tram sometimes experiences.
The waiting areas on both end are indoors and air-conditioned. Seating is a combination of benches and standing room. This Tram will also be wheelchair accessible. They do ask passengers to refrain from smoking on the tram and beverages can be carried but cannot be consumed on the tram.

  Mirage-Treasure Island Tram
The Mirage-Treasure Island tram hours of operation are 9 a.m. and midnight. The tram arrives approximately every 15 minutes. Travel time on the Tram is about 4 minutes. Keep in mind that this Tram offers no attendants to help direct the passengers so it gets alittle confusing. Both arriving and deprting passengers have to go down the same pathway.
The Mirage waiting area of this Tram is located outside but nicely shaded. At Treasure Island waiting area, passengers wait indoors. There is no smoking, food or opened beverages are allowed on the Tram. The Tram ride is slow but it beats walking in the heat Seating is bus-style seats and a few long benches and a small standing room area.

MGM Grand-Bally's Monorail The hours of operation of the monorail between MGM Grand and Bally's is 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday - Thursday and runs until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Your wait should only be between 5 to 10 minutes depending on the traffic. On busy days they do add extra trams to help with the crowds. The travel time is about 5 minutes.
This is a very basic monorail that does not offer an additional comfort to the passengers. The waiting area is outside and the Trams are poorly air-conditioned. The trams are small and seating is very tightly spaced. Attendants are loacted at either end to assist passengers which a feature that the other Trams do not offer. There is no smoking, food or open beverages allowed on the Tram ride. They do enforce the No smoking policy.
